HOUSING SECTOR TO REMAIN OPEN DURING LOCKDOWN

As England and Scotland enter new lockdowns, the latest official guidance says that as long as you obey strict safety guidelines, you are still able to move home during the time.

In this post, we answer some of the most common questions that home-movers in England, Scotland and Wales have asked us about what the constraints mean whether you are beginning your search or are already moving.

I live in England. Is it possible to return home?

Yeah, official advice from the government states that you can still travel home and that estate agents have been told that they can continue to work.

It is specified in the latest guidelines that carrying out activities related to the purchase, sale, lease or rental of a residential Off Plan Properties in Dubai are acceptable excuses for leaving home.

But the most important thing is that you obey the directions to help you stay secure, and agents have modified how they work to comply with these safety guidelines over the past year.

If you are still in the process of moving, unless it is absolutely necessary, people outside your household or the support bubble should not help you move home.

I live in Wales. Will I be able to go home?

In Wales, since 20 December, Tier 4 restrictions have been in effect. The new advice is that if you do not postpone the moving date until after Tier 4 limitations are lifted, you can go home.

The official guidance in Wales strongly recommends that whenever possible, virtual viewings be used, while viewings of properties may take place during warning level 4, but mixing during viewings must be avoided.

In Wales, high street estate agents have been forced to close to the public, but practices such as removals, property planning, keys handover, surveys and valuations can take place in compliance with the guidance on operating in the homes of other citizens.

The main items to take into account are:

  • Using virtual property viewings where possible
  • When physical viewings take place, assets should be unoccupied.
  • During a viewing, follow government advice on social distancing
  • The wearing of masks during a screening for both parties
  • Practice good hand hygiene and viewing with ‘touch free’
  • Clean assets thoroughly prior to and after viewing

I live in Scotland. Will I be able to go home?

The Scottish government has said that home movements will still happen under the new restrictions.

Specifically, their advice states that moving-home activities (including viewing of property) are permitted, as well as activities related to the repair, purchase, selling, lease or lease of residential Property Developers in Dubai for which the individual is the owner or otherwise liable.
